Halloween Mini Album

Here are some images of the Halloween Mini album I made. I used the Recollections mini album kit from Michael's and some gorgeous Marah Johnson paper from Remember When. I think the paper line is called Breathless. I inked the edges of most all my papers using the Quick Quotes line of chalk inks. I love them. All the trims are from Craftology Studio

Marah is going to be at Remember When this Saturday. So if you are in the area . . .

Wedding Dresses

This layout was created for a challenge at Practical Scrappers Check them out they are an amazing resource.  I am starting to like one photo layouts.  Sometimes one fantastic photograph is all you need on a page.   The background paper is made by Best Creation, Inc.  The mattes are World Win Papers in creamy cocoa and spring green.  As well as Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry paper pad.  I created the tag myself.  The flowers, leaves and such came from Remember When Scrapbooking which is fantastic.  I love that store.  Oh and yes, on the white letter stickers  I did use Color Box CHALK inks in dark brown and yellow cadmium.  I am seriously considering switching to the Quick Quotes brand however.  As the foam pad came off  the yellow while I was inking which turned out to be very messy.

I created this layout of my daughter when she was a debutante for the local hospital.  She is wearing my old wedding dress.  The hospital did not allow lace or beading on the dress. so we had the bodice remade with simple white satin.  I took this photo in our backyard with my point and shoot. Which has sadly now died as a result of a fatal kayaking accident.  I went in the water and was fine.  Unfortunately, The camera didn't stand a chance.  But that is ok as I am very excited about getting a new DSLR camera.  Any suggestions?

Espy, the designer for Craftology Studio, created the bodice for the dress.  She is incredibly talented and has more years experience in the L.A. fashion industry than I can remember.   Keep checking back as I will soon be posting the photo of the adorable windbreak she created for her family reunion.  She used Craftology Studio fabrics and trims.  It was truly something special it looked like it came right out of a fairy tale.

Breathless about my favorite things.

Here is a layout I created using some of my new favorite things. A big thank you to Practical Scrappers for the idea. First was Marah Johnson's Breathless Gate Die Cut. I really like this die cut. When I bought it, my mom as wondering how I was going to use it because it is so big. It did not take me long to figure out I wanted it in the background on my page. I layered it with three colors of paper: orange, purple and green. I outlined the key hole on the gate with a green glitter jelly roll pen (Sakura). If I could do it again I would use the white with glitter over it.

The SPOOKY letters are glitter punch outs. Which I inked using the Color Box CHALK in dark brown and the StazOn in jet black. I think StazOn smells like licorice. Yum. I created mats for my photos (to come soon) with purple rice paper and the leftover green from the background. The green I tore and inked with the brown and black. I stamped the "Danger do not Enter" on a leftover mat that I had been using to protect my desk while I inked some things with the Distress Ink in peeled paint on another project. I took the Halloween ribbon from Craftology Studio and cut the ghosts and pumpkins from it and matted them on white paper also inked with peeled paint. Some of these I mounted with pop dots for dimension. The cat and bats are from Jolee's boutique.

I really like the way the page turned out. I hope you enjoy.

Ma Cherie

Do you love poodles?  I do.  When I was a little girl I had a toy poodle.  Her name was Suzette.  She was not pink.  She had a rhinestone collar and very dainty feet.

When I saw this applique I just knew I had  to use it.   Here is what I did:
I started with a pale pink paper and used Glimmer Mist stencils and clear coat spray to achieve the heart images on the background.  While that dried, I tore the edge of the black paper for the sides and mats and cut the pink mats.  The little bows are punched out of Hershey Kiss wrappers which makes this page all the sweeter.  I used white floral rub-ons and Prima flowers the centers of which I filled with buttons (coming soon) and rhinestones.

The applique and page are both available at the Craftology Studio Etsy shop.   Check it out and our Genius Kits.  Perhaps one will inspire your creative genius.

Au Revoir,

Independence Day Bunting

Are you ready for your Independence Day celebration?  If you need  a quick idea for a decoration.  Here is unique bunting you can put together in under an hour; less if you have sewing experience.

Start with a fat quarter,  Fold in in half, long sides together.  Mark one long side every five inches starting from the end.  Mark the other long side every five inches starting two and a half inches from the end.  Using a straight edge cut diagonally from point to point.  This will give you triangles. Do not cut the triangles apart at the top.  Keep triangles in pairs making sure the wrong sides are together.

Sew small rick rack around the bottom two edges of one side of four of the triangle pairs.  Sew zigzag stitch in contrasting color around the bottom edges of the other tree triangle pairs.  Sew tops of triangles to jumbo rick-rack.  Sew jumbo rick-rack at each end to form a small loop for hanging. Sew stars in desired locations. Ta-da instant party.

Your friends will think you are amazingly talented.  "She's so creative." they'll say.  Remember to smile.  You don't have to tell anyone how easy it was.

The Love the Red, White and Blue  Genius kit has the fabric rick-rack and stars to create this bunting. Check it out at the Craftology Studio Shop.

Love the Red White and Blue

Here are the pictures of my Fourth of July mini-book. I used a chipboard book from Michael's and hand cut the paper to fit. Some of the paper is from the Rusty Pickle Bottle Rocket Line. All the Rusty Pickle lines are on sale for $50% off at their website. I used cotton trims which will be available Friday, June 18 from the Craftology Studio Etsy Shop. I used the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to color the blue flower. The letters are from K and Company.

I hope this inspires your own Independence Day.

Studio Day

Today was great. I spent the whole day at the Craftology Studio sorting and taking inventory. There are so many treasures. It seems that when I move things to their new homes, something adorable is uncovered. I am uncovering things about myself too. Like my desire to overwork. It is well-balanced by one of my partner's ability to take breaks. I keep her working; she keeps me from working every minute. But now, I am home and I can work all night. So tonight I will be playing with my "Love the red, white and blue." goodies. I will show you the result tomorrow.

Hope your dreams come true.
